According to a recent study done by a public corporation, ALC Co., Ltd., learning English grammar starting from middle school and into high school is essential for the university entrance exam. Their results showed that 79% of students who did not have a high school grammar background did not do well on the university exam, while 89% of students who just have junior high grammatical knowledge were able to understand the university exam. Furthermore, a survey done by Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University also found the following statistics:
1) 79% of the problems on the college entrance exam includes high school level grammar
2) High school level problems can be solved with concepts from middle school. This varies with the types of exams: 5% of questions at the National Testing Center, 16% at national universities, and 9% at private universities).
3) For all of the subjects on the college entrance exam, 89% can be solved with junior high school knowledge.
4) When looking at the National Center for Testing, the National University and other private universities have questions that require English concepts from middle school are around 63% and 82%, respectively.

そして、もし、日本人はアメリカ大学に行きたくて、えい語をよく勉強するはずです。それから、アメリカに来る時、えい語が上手で、アメリカ人と話せます。だから、中学生からえい語を勉強した方がいいと思います。
